Design foundation

A verified record, not a product page.

The token system from which every screen is assembled. Colour, type, space, motion and status — each a named value, so a theme change touches one file and nothing else knows it happened.

Parchment appears on score reports, award offers and the verification page, and nowhere else. If it turns up on a dashboard the system has been diluted and the credential surfaces stop feeling special.

Every score, percentile, reference and amount is set in the mono face with tabular figures. A candidate reads these aloud to a university and copies them into forms, so they have to be unambiguous — and a number that means something must never look like a number that is just prose.

Five families, and no sixth

ClearedUnder reviewVoidedNot selectedNotice

Colour is never the only signal — every status carries a word, and an icon where one helps. Roughly one man in twelve has a colour vision deficiency, which makes a red-green pair exactly the wrong thing to depend on. These five are locked and cannot be reassigned by a seasonal theme, because status colour carries meaning rather than mood.

One primary per region

Ochre is reserved for the primary action on an ink surface and for anything to do with an award. Spending it elsewhere wastes the one colour that means money. Labels are verb phrases naming the outcome — “Accept this award”, never “Submit” — so the confirmation can echo them back.

Cleared

“Not selected” is neutral, never adverse. Telling a candidate their percentile, how many awards their cohort had, and that they cleared the standard is both kinder and far more defensible than a bare rejection.

The worst news, delivered properly

Voided

Your result for the 22 March sitting has been voided.

Reason

A second person was present during part of the assessment. Results are only valid where the work is the candidate's own and unassisted.

What was observed

  • A second face was visible in the camera between 00:41:03 and 00:41:14.
  • A second voice was audible over the same period.
  • You were invited to respond on 24 March and replied on 26 March. Your response was considered.
Decided byAssessment AdministratorDate28 Mar 2027
You have 14 days from today, until 11 April 2027.

Five parts, in this order, always: the decision, the reason in plain language, the evidence relied on, who decided and when, and the route to challenge it — in the same message, never a separate email. No illustration, no apology, no reassuring colour. A named human recorded this decision before the candidate ever saw it.

Consent is never bundled

As it appears on the identity document you will verify with.

The programme is open from 18. This is locked once your identity is verified.

The code expires in 10 minutes. You can ask for a new one after 60 seconds.

In your own words. There is no right answer and no format we expect.

What do you want to study next?

Labels are always visible; a placeholder is an example, never a label, because it vanishes the moment someone types — exactly when a reader working in a second language most needs to check what was asked. Errors say what to do rather than what went wrong. And every consent is a separate block with its own statement in full, its own document version, and a plain line saying what happens if it is declined. Declining to be recorded routes to a supervised live session, not out of the programme.

Seven states, not one

Every session is reviewed by a person

Results for this window are released together on 2 April at 14:00 in your time zone. Being under review is the normal state for everyone and means nothing about you.

Your phone is not verified yet

You can browse and apply now, but you will need a verified phone before you can book an exam slot.

No scholarships match those filters yet

Nothing is open to your nationality at master's level this cycle. The next cycle opens in November, and two programmes in your region accept applications then.

Loading

Every screen that loads data defines all seven states: loading, empty, populated, partial, error, forbidden and offline. The two that get forgotten are partial — show what succeeded and retry only the part that failed, never discard good data — and forbidden, which says so plainly without revealing whether the record exists. An empty state never reads “No results found”; it names the criterion that excluded you and what would change it.

What this page is not

This is the design foundation, not the home page. PUB-01 is task W14-02 and cannot honestly render until there is a cycle record to read the deadline from, tier records to read real award values from, and a published funnel from a completed cycle. Every number on the real home page comes from those records, never from a designer’s placeholder, because the public rules and the rules the engine enforces are generated from the same source and must not be able to drift apart.
